Enstrom Helicopters feature a high-inertia rotor system. In the event of a power failure, helicopters enter an autorotation. During an autorotation the helicopter converts the stored energy in the spinning rotor blades into lift to cushion the power-off landing. More inertia translates into more lift, which makes for a much higher margin of safety and survivability. Simply put, Enstroms are a far safer helicopter in the event of a power failure.
Enstrom helicopters have a 3-bladed fully articulated rotor system. This practically eliminates the possibility of mast bumping. Mast bumping can cause the rotor system to separate from the helicopter. This is a potentially hazardous condition far more pronounced in 2-bladed rotor systems. Enstrom has never had a main rotor failure.
Enstrom F28F
The fourth in a successful line of F-28 models, the F-28F Falcon is the workhorse of Enstrom's piston line. A 61 inch wide cabin provides comfortable seating for three people and features large, wide-opening doors. Deliveries of the F-28 series now number over 600 helicopters for a broad range of applications.

Enstrom 480
The Enstrom 480 was developed to provide a more affordable, but equally competent, light turbine helicopter to a market historically dominated by the Bell 206B Jet Ranger and MD500. A thorough development program, which included three test aircraft and over 1500 hours of flight verification, led to FAA certification to FAR 27 standards in 1994. FAR 27 is a more current and rigorous certification basis than that achieved by the competitors in this class.
The 480B series has now been certified in 16 countries and has already been operated in 18 countries. With over 90 aircraft in the field now, the 480B is proving to be a popular choice for a wide range of applications, including personal transport, flight instruction, law enforcement, power line patrol, executive transport (charter), electronic news gathering, pipeline patrol, aerial photography, sightseeing, and cargo/passenger delivery.
